Happy Friday, everyone! I wanted to share a couple of pics from the twins 4th birthday from a few weeks ago. When I think about them turning 4, I cannot help but get emotional. I still remember when I was pregnant with them. It was a pretty easy pregnacny except I gained tons of weight and was a true basket case. I slept most of the time and ate a hamburger on the daily. OOPS! I was on bed rest for the last 3 months of my pregnancy. It is truly crazy to think now I am back to my normal size again (a few more pounds to go), healthier than ever and have the cutest little munchkins in the world. It has been quite a ride since they were born, that is for sure, but I am so blessed in more ways than one. As I think back on the days leading to their 4th birthday, I cannot help recall them asking everyday how many more days until their birthday. The week prior to their birthday, I remember being in the car and telling them only 4 more days until their birthday party and 5 until their birthday, and my daughters face lit up. It was quite charming. Those are the moments that I want to hold on to forever. I just love seeing them smile. For their party this year, we decided to host a friend/school party and then a Offer/Stanyer family party. (Stanyers are my sister in law and her family). The friend party consisted of 80 people and we rented out the local Lake Highlands rec center large gym. It is great because it fits up to 40 kids and 90 total people. It has huge bounce houses, and tons of kid friendly toys. The family party consisted of gifts, Mexican food and lots of Chambongs (for the adults of course). Overall, it was such a great day for the twins, and us and everyone around us. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.
Now…as I think about them being 4, I find myself a little emotional. They remember so much more now and everyday they are learning new words and what things are in the world. They are starting to ask questions of why and how come. I realize now that at 4, these are the times they are going to start to remember. The memories we are making now, will last forever. As I bathed them both the other night, I stopped and just looked at them. They are truly growing up so quickly and I only hope that Andrew and I can provide them the best and teach them right from wrong. I pray everyday for their safety and happiness. Andrew and I want to be able to give them the world, no matter what but also teach them how to be loving, caring, honest, smart and so much more. Having twins is hard, in so many ways but it is a blessing. Being a twin parent, is different. It is hard sometimes but so much fun at other times. Like Papa told me at the age of 13, “I am destin to have twins”. He was right. I am so glad he embedded that in me at a young age, because I think I always knew I would. I cannot image any other way now, and as I think about them being 4; I feel so blessed to be able to be their mommy. Cheers!!
Some of my ride or dies above. The beauties of having kids the same age. We get to attend each others parties.
Why does Averie look so mad? HA! Why is my head so oily? Give me the powder. HA!
This is our good friend Shana’s daughter, and they were having so much fun.
At home opening presents
Sharing a birthday with your Uncle is the best!! Happy 4th to the twins and 44th to Uncle Jared.
What is an Offer Party without the chambong?
The morning of the twins 4th birthday, we put up a few banners and wrapped their presents. They were so stoked to say they are now 4.
Happy Birthday, Averie and Bentley! We cannot see what 4 brings to our family. CHEERS friends! I hope you enjoyed sharing our special weekend with you all.
