Happy Tuesday, everyone. I am so glad to be back and blogging more this week. Last week, I was out for the count with pneumonia. That stuff really got me this time. I have had it quite a few times since the twins were born, and this one was hard on me. I am still coughing a lot but at least I am feeling better. I finally started feeling human again this past Saturday, so I took the twins to a Christmas party. They did good for a bit but of course Averie wants to do something different than Bentley, so that leads to fights….every single time! He really just wants to eat sweets and let me hold him, and she wants to place bows in baskets, but overall it was a fun time. Then on Sunday, we all loaded up and yes I mean loaded up, we have to pack a car full with twins. We drove out to see the ICE featuring Santa Claus is coming to town at the Gaylord Resort. At a chilly 9 degrees, it is really cold but it so fun to see all the hand carved ice sculptures. We started this tradition about 4-5 years ago and it has become a family tradition since. It gets more interesting and more fun each year as the twins get older. It is fun to watch them see new things and to see those little eyes light up. It makes me all giddy inside. So, that was our weekend. What is your families holiday traditions? I would love to hear….
Now let’s talk fashion….This outfit is probably one of my favorites to date. I am not a huge fan of layering but when it is cold outside, you must layer to stay warm sometimes. I just never love the way it makes you look larger than you are, but this outfit did not seem to do that for me. This sweater from the Loft is one of the items that I bought on Black Friday. It is really soft and not heavy at all. It is so great how you can make a sweater so much more interesting by throwing it over any plaid shirt and letting the bottom of the plaid and the cuffs on the sleeve show. It really is quite flattering. Plus, this sweater is 50% off right now, making it only $24. My new OTK boots from Macys are by far one of the best purchases ever made. These things are so comfortable and chic and I could wear them all day everyday. They are the type of shoes that will turn heads and keep your legs looking long. Trust me on these OTK boots, they are worth it. Plus, if you order them right now and enter the code “MERRY” at checkout, the total comes to $60. (HINT HINT ANDREW OFFER- feel free to purchase the black ones for me in a size 6.5) To top off this outfit, I put on some cheap red lipstick that I got off Amazon and gave it that extra pop. So…do yourself a favor and get to ordering some of these items before they are sold out.
