Hi there! Welcome to my blog. I’m so excited you’re here! So, let’s dive in. Firstly, I want to introduce myself and tell you what you will see in this blog and how I got to where I am today.
I am married to a guy name Andrew, we have been married for almost six years, but been together for almost nine. We have soon-to-be four year old twins named Averie and Bentley. We are all blondes, hence the blonde twin mom name, and we reside in Dallas, TX.
Over the past 2 years, I have truly gone through quite a few struggles. I am sure they’re the same struggles of a lot of people endure; marriage, having children, being the perfect mom, trying to keep up with everyone and everything else and not feeling good about yourself. I, too, went through that and my family struggled because of it. However, I was able to overcome those personal struggles and grow in my faith and mature as a person through that process. I found a confidence that I never had, I stopped caring what other people think or say about me and I started living. I started focusing on my marriage and my children, and, once I was able to do that, I found true happiness. With that, however, I wanted something else, not physically or emotionally, but something that I could call mine and do for me…a hobby and passion. I’m sure several women can relate, wanting something that’s yours. My husband has golf as his getaway and I am lucky to have the occasional dining or outing with my girlfriends, but, aside from that, I never spent time on my personal interests or hobbies. So, I have spent the past few months trying out new ventures, seeking new projects, and trying to find something that I could call my own but nothing was filling that missing piece, the passion I so eagerly trying to find.
Then, about two months ago, I was sitting with my best friend and she said to me, “I remember the first time I met you, you were all about fashion, what happened?” Not that I did not still enjoy buying clothes, because trust me, I enjoy that more than my bank account can handle. She meant the girl who took risks and was always changing up the wardrobe. She was right, what happened to that girl? I started to think a lot about my passions, and how far I have come over the past few years. I never want to go down that road that I did the past two years. So, I realized pretty quickly, I needed to do something that was for me. Of course, I had no clue how to get started. So, I talked to her about blogging and how to go about it. I also shared with her the dream of eventually doing video blogs because I love making people laugh and I am a total shit show sometimes. She gave me some honest advice, some good contacts and, bam, blonde twin mom was born. So, I hope you subscribe as I share my love for fashion, simple recipes and meal options for your kids, humor and a very raw and unfiltered look into my life as a blonde twin mom.
P.S. I’m not claiming to be the perfect writer with impeccable grammar. I’m just here to be me….the imperfect person who loves life!! So, if you see a comma out of place, just keep on reading.
