Happy Friday, friends!! I get a lot of questions about NOLA. How come I go to NOLA so much? Do I have a house in NOLA? What do I suggest in NOLA? What to wear in NOLA? I am going to spend a little time on this post answering some of the questions I have received recently.
I go to NOLA a couple of times a year for a few reasons. First, I love Cajun food. Like LOVE IT. So, I love to go and eat all the food. This past weekend I went on a trip with my husband and sister and brother in law and we ate all the foods. We ate so much food that when I got home my feet were swollen. That is no joke. I always know I am going to gain about 5 pounds and this trip, I am sure I gained 10. However, the food is truly worth it. The time before that my best friend Jennifer and I went to do blogging photos. That is one thing about New Orleans, the photo options are endless. The other reasons I go is because it is a great place to go with girlfriends and just dance and be silly. I can honestly say that in 2017, I went over 5 times.
We do not have a house in NOLA. However, we actually talked about buying a place and renting it out but that would not be for a few years. And let’s be honest, we talk about buying allll the places. ha!
The nice thing about NOLA is you can truly wear whatever you want. You can wear tees, shorts, and sneakers or you can dress up a bit. There are quite a few nice restaurants that you have to dress up for but if you are just walking the streets then you would be more comfortable in some flip flops, booties or sneakers. Most of the time you can find me sporting my go to booties or some Adidas.
Things I suggest in NOLA are found here but I have some things to do to this list. First, I would strongly suggest Oceana. They have real Po-Boys and the food is excellent. I would suggest going to Daisy Dukes for breakfast and ordering the breakfast sandwich. The bloody mars were not my favorite but they are known to have good ones. Also, another great breakfast place is Ruby Slipper. By far the best bloody Mary ever and the food was amazing. Anything you order there you cannot go wrong. Make sure to get a Hurricane at Pat O’ Briens and do not leave NOLA without having a cup of gumbo from the Old Coffee Pot. The last place that I would recommend is Willies Chicken Shack. They have the best chicken I have ever had. I am still thinking about it now actually. HA!
So, there you have it folks. I hope this answers some of your questions. Feel free to ask more as I love NOLA and always want to share places I love. My next vacation is in December to San Francisco and excited to share what I experience there. Until then. xo!!
Cheers,
HO
